Terms of Service
Beautrix — for artists Last updated: 10 September 2026
1. Who this is between
These terms are the contract between Yasin Bokhari trading as Beautrix ("we", "us") and you, the artist subscribing to Beautrix.
(Sole trader version: Yasin Bokhari trading as Beautrix, of 7 Bramber Road, London W14 9PA.) You can reach us at hello@beautrix.app.
By subscribing you accept these terms, the Data Processing Agreement at https://beautrix.app/dpa (which is part of this contract and which the law requires us both to have), and the Acceptable Use Policy at https://beautrix.app/acceptable-use.
2. What Beautrix is — and what it is not
Beautrix is software. It gives you a public page, takes bookings, works out your travel, holds your diary, sends your clients confirmations and tells you when something happens.
We want three things to be unmistakable, because they define what you are buying:
- We are not a marketplace. We do not find clients for you, we do not list you in a directory, and we do not put you in front of anybody. Every client who books you found you — through your own link, your own social media, or word of mouth.
- We are not a party to your bookings. The contract for an appointment is between you and your client. We are not your agent and we do not act on your client's behalf either.
- We do not vet, approve, verify, endorse, insure or supervise you, and we never describe you to anyone as vetted or verified. What you do at a client's address is yours: your service, your standards, your insurance, your licences.
3. Your side of it
You confirm that you are subscribing for the purposes of your business, that you are at least 18, and that you are legally able to provide the services you list.
You must:
- hold and keep in force public liability insurance and, where your work requires it, treatment risk insurance, at a level appropriate to what you do;
- hold any licence, registration or qualification your local authority or your trade requires;
- keep your prices, services and availability accurate, and make sure the total price a client sees includes every charge they must pay — if a travel fee or a booking fee is unavoidable, it belongs in the displayed price, not revealed at checkout;
- give your clients a cancellation policy that is fair. We provide a template and a default at https://beautrix.app/cancellation-guidance. If you write your own, it is yours, and it is your responsibility under the Consumer Rights Act 2015;
- deal with your own clients' complaints, refunds and data protection requests. They are your clients and, in law, you are their data controller.
4. What it costs
£9 a month, taken by card on the same date each month until you cancel. Prices are shown exclusive of VAT; if we become VAT-registered we will add VAT at the prevailing rate and tell you before the first charge that includes it.
We may change the price. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and the new price applies from your next renewal after that notice. If you do not want to pay it, cancel before then.
If a payment fails we will retry, and tell you. If it keeps failing we may suspend your page — your data stays, and it comes back when you pay.
5. Cancelling, refunds and disputes
You can cancel at any time, from inside the app, in a single action. No phone call, no email, no retention script, no notice period.
- Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not refund the month you are in — you keep working until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If you cancel within 14 days of first subscribing and have not taken a real booking, email hello@beautrix.app and we will refund that first month in full. We offer this because we would rather you did not pay for something that turned out not to suit you.
- If we get something badly wrong — a fault on our side that stopped you working — tell us and we will refund fairly. We would rather sort it out than argue.
Note on the law, for our own clarity and yours. The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give a 14-day cancellation right to consumers — people acting wholly or mainly outside their business. An artist subscribing to a tool that runs her business is not a consumer, so that statutory right does not apply here. The refund above is something we choose to offer, not something we are obliged to. It does not make you a consumer or give you any other consumer right.
Disputes and chargebacks. If you dispute a Beautrix charge with your bank, please tell us as well — most disputes are a misremembered subscription and we can usually resolve it same day. Payments from your clients are a different matter: those are yours, they settle into your own Stripe account, and any dispute over one of them is between you, your client and Stripe.
6. Payments — Stripe
Payment processing services for artists on Beautrix are provided by Stripe and are subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Terms of Service (collectively, the "Stripe Services Agreement"). By agreeing to these terms or continuing to operate as an artist on Beautrix, you agree to be bound by the Stripe Services Agreement, as it may be modified by Stripe from time to time. As a condition of Beautrix enabling payment processing services through Stripe, you agree to provide Beautrix accurate and complete information about you and your business, and you authorise Beautrix to share it and transaction information related to your use of the payment processing services provided by Stripe.
Your clients' payments go directly into your own Stripe account. They do not pass through us and we never hold them. Stripe's fees are Stripe's, and its privacy policy governs what it does with the personal data you give it. Stripe Payments UK Limited is authorised as an electronic money institution by the Financial Conduct Authority (reference 900461).
7. Your data and your clients' data
Your account data is ours to look after as controller — what we do with it is in the privacy notice at https://beautrix.app/privacy.
Your clients' data is yours. You are the controller; we hold it as your processor and only on your instructions. The Data Processing Agreement at https://beautrix.app/dpa sets out what we must do, which suppliers we use, and what happens at the end. UK GDPR requires that agreement to exist and it forms part of this contract.
You can take it with you. Whenever you want, export your clients, bookings and invoices from Set-up. If you close your account we keep it for 90 days in case you come back, then delete it, apart from records we must keep for tax.
8. What you keep
Your page, your photographs, your words, your client list and your prices remain yours. We claim nothing in them. You give us permission to host and display them for as long as you use Beautrix, and to keep backups for a reasonable period afterwards. The software itself, and the Beautrix name and marks, remain ours.
9. What we promise, and what we don't
We will try hard to keep Beautrix running and to keep your data safe. We do not promise it will never be unavailable. Things we rely on — hosting, payment processing, email, maps — occasionally fail, and sometimes we will need to take it down to fix or improve it. Where we can plan an interruption we will tell you first and do it at a quiet hour.
Some parts depend on other companies and are only ever as good as they are: drive times and travel fees are estimates from a mapping service, vehicle details come from the DVLA, and Instagram posts come from Meta. If any of those is wrong or unavailable, we are sorry, but we are not responsible for it.
10. If something goes wrong
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Subject to that, and because this is a business-to-business contract:
- we are not liable for lost profits, lost bookings, lost goodwill or lost data as an indirect consequence of a failure of the software;
- our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £250 or the fees you paid us in that period;
- we are not liable for anything arising from your services to your clients — your work, your conduct, your insurance, your compliance. If a claim is made against us because of what you did at a client's address, you will cover us for it.
We think that is a fair allocation for a £9-a-month tool: the price is not underwriting your business, and it could not.
11. Ending it
You: cancel any time, in the app, in one action.
Us: we may suspend or end your account if you break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if you do not pay, or if we are required to. Except where the breach is serious or we have no choice, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we end your account for a reason that is not your fault — because we stop offering the service, say — we will give you at least 60 days' notice and refund anything you have paid for time you will not get.
However it ends, you can export everything for 90 days.
12. Changing these terms
We may change these terms. For anything that materially affects you, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email, and it takes effect at your next renewal. Carrying on using Beautrix after that means you accept it; if you would rather not, cancel.
13. Complaints
Email hello@beautrix.app and tell us what happened. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to resolve things within 20. If it is about how we have handled personal data, use the form at https://beautrix.app/complaints — that route has a legal timetable attached to it and we will acknowledge within 30 days.
We are not a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
